This elegant water lily napkin fold is perfect for a ladies’ luncheon, bridal brunch, or other gathering. It might look complicated at first glance, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to create!
Lay flat a square napkin, and fold each corner to meet at the center, pressing folds as you work to create a square. Flip the napkin over and fold each corner to the center again, pressing each fold as you work. Press down on the center of the napkin to hold the corners in place. Reach underneath and pull up each corner to create the water lily petals. Push the center of each petal back gently to help its shape.

Very pretty…I think I will use this napkin fold for my next garden party. Thank you Phyllis.
So pretty! Just the new touch I need for the tea I’ll be giving here for my granddaughter after her marriage in Ireland in June. I’ll try it with my little ivory linen tea napkins and hope it works. Just bought a set of ivory paper lanterns for the patio at sunset for the event. They are perfect for my situation, as they have separate hooks to hang from and are battery powered.
I have really prayed to find unique, elegant, ivory accents and plan to paint some of my flower pots with ivory satin finish paint and plant small ivory and green leafy plants in them. Thank you again for adding anticipation and pleasure to my day.
So lovely…thank you Phyllis.
I love this beautiful yet simple idea! I will most definitely be trying this at my next tea party.
Bishop’s Hat Butterfly is my go-to fold. It looks elegant hanging over the sides of the water goblet or perched directly on the center of the plate. I will try the water lily at our next gathering and place name cards inside the blossom. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I love your napkin fold tutorials. The rose fold was a big hit at a tea I held for family members last year.
I just noticed that the first two steps are the same as for the “cootie catchers” we used to make in grade school. Who knew I was honing my napkin folding skills way back then lol!
I was thinking that same thing. It will be okay for me to make them as I have an engrained memory of cootie catchers.
I can’t wait to try this it will be nice to have something different at the table. My guest will be impressed and probably think someone did it for me. Thanks
I love this, all new fold for me. Thank you so much!
I like this and will add it to my inventory of napkin folds.
What a wonderful idea! A nice table will always have a special touch !
It means I care, I had you in mind when preparing for this special occasion.
I will certainly try it next time I have ladies for lunch.
Thank you,
I love this, thank you! What a lovely touch to any elegant table. I don’t often fold my napkins in this way, as I mainly use antique French napkins with monograms or beautiful lace, but this is so spectacular, I’m going to try it for our next luncheon or dinner party.
