I love collecting books, and if you could see my collection, you would think I am nuts. I just love surrounding myself with beautiful books that inspire me. I had the opportunity to go to Paris several years ago. I fell in love with the French style and their way of decorating and collecting. As I wandered the streets looking at beautiful gardens and sipping tea in a special tea room, I observed that vintage things are never discarded, they are given new life!

Cindy Smith Cooper has authored one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen, French Style with Vintage Finds. The French are known for their impeccable taste and style that is timeless and traditional, modern and chic, and undeniably captivating. With the flip of every page, you will be taking a trip to France. This book captures the elegance and style of French decorating and lifestyle. From the embossed cover and through the 200 pages printed on luxury paper, you will be transported through elegant homes and cottages, gardens and terraces, and small nooks filled with beautiful ideas!

The “Markets of Paris” is one of my favorite sections of the book. I would love to be on the streets in Paris, meandering through the market stalls, but this book makes me feel as though I am there.

If you are looking for a great addition to your book collection, this one is for you. The book is currently available for pre-order and will be available to ship March 1, 2017. Order with the coupon code FRENCH to receive free shipping!

  1. I am also a book nut. I love coffee table type books and everything French. I know I would enjoy winning this beautiful book just by the way you have described it. I will probably never get to Paris, but it sounds like I could get absorbed in the pages of this book and almost be there.

  2. Our daughter is a French teacher and I would love to add this book to her library. Her birthday is also in Feburary and what a great gift. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

  3. Paris is on my re-visit list because two days is not long enough in that beautiful city. This book sounds like a lovely way to “re-visit Paris.”

  4. I have wonderful memories of time spent in Paris. What a great book of a lovely city. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.

  5. I could not find a’photo,of the book..I tried to enter and was frustrated in the process. Don,t know if I am entered or not.
My library is all hand picked ..for content . But some of my
“Finds’ are artiscally illustrated inside on most every .page or chapter. I used to make a cloth cover for each book…a certain color for each category..my own “Dewey decimal” system and
much easier. It was easier to find the titles on some
    too.
I was hoping to,glimpse inside your feature book as we can when ordering on Amazon. Will try again here. Sounds lovely.

  6. To Karen,
While following the Beekman Boys on Facebook when they went to Arles , I made a similar comment that I was happy to follow their adventure knowing that I would likely never get to the visit the south of France. Josh responded to me, ‘never stop dreaming.’ I was inspired and I know that I will someday check Provence off my bucket list. So to you Karen, ‘never stop dreaming.’
    Viva la France !!

  7. What a lovely book! For me, it would bring back many memories. In 1956 as a young teacher, I had an opportunity to spend the summer in Paris. Of course, I also travelled around the country and fell in love with it and also fell in love with a handsome man (a fellow American) who later became my husband! We spent almost fifty years together. France is a very special place for me.

  8. I would love to see Paris though I know I will never have the opportunity. A lovely gift offering. Thank you for the opportunity and best of luck to all to win!

  9. I too love to collect books, all kinds and especially decorating books. Your lovely blog is such an inspiration and you touch on so many of the beautiful things that make life memorable.

  10. What a serene photo — makes me ponder who I would like to be sitting across from in such a wonderful place. Books on distant lands always intrigue me. Thanks for the chance to win this book.

  11. I, too, enjoy collecting and enjoying lifestyle books like this one. We used to call them “coffee table” books because that’s where they’re often displayed.

  12. This book is so apropos for me as I went to France over Thansgiving weekend and fell in with Paris and the cities of Rheims and Strasbour. This book would add to my new found appreciation for all things French!

  13. I also love to read, especially decorating, and more precisely French decor. Thanks for this opportunity to add to our book collection.

  14. We are fortunate to have several antique/vintage German books. Inherited from my hubby’s grandparents . They are beautifully bound and we proudly display them in our home with framed photos.

  15. My love for antiques and the French way Of decorating has come from my love of books. As a child the only entertainment we had was my mothers love of reading aloud. We sat and listened as she read the classics to my sister and myself. I guess this was the only way she got to sit and read as we were poor and had an abusive father. Her time to take a leisurely moment was limited as we had to work in tobacco fields in the summer months to buy our schools supplies, winter coats and shoes. It was always amazing to my teachers that I knew all the classics. She would call on me last to give my book report, I suppose so she could look forward to the end of that particular duty. Today I also surround myself with as many books as I can afford. What a delight to escape into another world for a short time. Thanks for allowing all of us a chance to win a beautiful book to dream away a few moments of our day.

  16. I am so looking forward to seeing this book ! Like all HM books, it promises to be wonderful!

    God bless !

  17. I Love the french look. I have a friend that put her home together in french style and it’s just beautiful. This would be a lovely gift for her 🙂

  18. I think that because the French don’t move around the way Americans do, and even if they move to another city it isn’t nearly as far (France is about the size of Texas), so they tend to hang on to family heirlooms. And the antique shops really are great.

  19. I just moved and am looking for decorating ideas to make this new place feel warm & inviting (without spending a fortune). I’m a big fan of French Country decor as long as it’s not too shabby or rustic.

  20. I love collecting books, as well. This would be a wonderful addition to my collection! Thanks for always sharing such beautiful home decor and entertaining ideas.
