There is so much excitement going on in the world of sewing! So, I would love to share some of what we have been working on over the last few weeks. First, Classic Sewing magazine now has a new and improved newsletter! And our fabulous graphic designer created the cutest graphic for it!
We have already received many lovely comments on our new newsletter! I truly want to thank everyone for the kind words. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our sewing community together and to make sure you all are aware of events, products, and the latest in sewing news.
Also, the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo (OSQE) is coming to Cleveland next month! We have so much fun, and the excitement in the marketplace and classroom is thrilling. You can feel the joy when you walk in. If you live close by, I would love to see you there!
And last but not least, our summer issue is headed your way very soon. I am absolutely delighted with every single project in this issue. One of my favorites is actually on the cover—it is the most darling Jack and Jill outfit you have ever seen. Make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter so you are one of the first to know when this issue hits newsstands!
*The project pictured above is The Cousins Skirt by Trisha Smith. The project details are available in our Spring 2019 issue!

I have wanted to learn to sew and I am determined to learn this year. Continued success with the Classic Sewing magazine.

I love to sew, “sew” very much! And yet, I don’t feel like I have the time because I always let my “home work” to take precedence over it!
A while back when I lamented that to Mom, she offered a suggestion to me. She said, “Then you should schedule in your sewing time, along with your work, by taking one day to do it like you would the work!”
Brilliant, Mom.
What would I do without you and your advice!
I love you, Mom
This is exciting. On my to do list for retirement is to learn to sew. They were not offering it, or Home Economics for that matter, when I was in school. My mother made most of my clothes when I was in Elementary School. We live in a very rural area so access to classes is not possible. Are there resources with Classic Sewing that I could utilize? Thanks!
I love the French Cooking and Entertaining magazine. I’m visiting my boys who are in grad school. I was surprised to find it in NE. It is full of great stories and recipes.
When my niece was 2 (now 41) I made a lot of her clothes. I especially loved making her those little bubble rompers❤️. I cant wait for grandkids and hopefully a granddaughter someday to sew for.
In the meantime, learning to quilt is on my agenda this year.
