Samford Legacy League’s Christmas Home Tours!

Phyllis Lifestyle 12 Comments

Tomorrow, I am playing the piano for one of the most exciting events in Birmingham, the annual Samford Legacy League Christmas Home Tour. I love this event and every year some of the most beautiful homes in our city are open for tours. I get some great Christmas ideas. It is always inspiring for me to see the work of creative people.

The wonderful thing about this tour is you can start at any home and the hours accommodate any schedule! I will be at the Westmorland home playing for 10 til 11 in the morning. Then I will start my tour of the other homes.

I have been a member of this organization for quite some time. The proceeds from all our work go to scholarships for deserving students. It is gratifying to hear these students speak about how receiving these funds have changed their lives and enabled them to pursue their dreams.

Join us for a wonderful day of holiday magic!

  1. I also live in California and would love to go on the home tour and to hear you play. This year my 1881 Victorian is on the Historic Folsom Holiday Home tour this weekend. It is also a charity event. I am trying to get the nerve up to play my harp in front of people for the tour. I am pretty shy about it. Have a wonderful time, I’m sure that it will be a fabulous event.

  2. We live in California!! But, I so wish I was close to you so I could go and hear your music and see the lovely homes!!!

Do I hear CD of your music????

Merry Christmas, Phyllis, to you and yours….!and may your New Year be FILLED with good health and happiness!

    Fondly,
    CJ

  3. I would love to go the home tour too, but mileage will keep us apart!
Have a great time Phyllis and enjoy all the colorful splendor of creative people enjoying the season for a great cause. I’m waiting to receive my CD of your own creation….a little gift for moi. Carmel

  4. Connie ~ take my word for it. Phyllis can play anything, anytime, anywhere and you think you are listening to someone who is paid lots and lots of money to hear them play. She is unbelievable, and has a Christmas CD that you need to get lest you doubt my word. Truly a joy to listen to! (and, no, she did not pay me to say that).

  5. Oh, I have been in one of these homes and it is amazing. Wish I was available to tour them all and see them decorated for Christmas.

  6. Phyllis you are quite a woman!!! You are so talented! Wish I lived nearby because I would certainly go to this event, sounds wonderful… What a great cause for these kids… Enjoy and I’am so jealous! You are a good woman and your family is lucky to have you. Fondest Regards, Denise

  7. Sounds amazing. Do you play by ear or do you have hours of Christmas music memorized? I’m a former Samford piano major, so your first words caught my attention immediately. I’m sure your music will be beautiful.
